05/04/2012 Show Recap
Happy Friday dudebros!
and of course May the Fourth (heehee) be with you.

Today is the day of the long awaited Guac-Off, yup it is the exciting day everyone has being talking about, preparing for, and the stomachs have bean yearning for, and what an excitement filled day it was!
First there was tequila popsicles, there was also a drink specialist making, what I was told, was the best Margaritas ever, but lets go back to those popsicles, many people had multiple so whatever you heard on the Friday show, remember, it was likely by the end somebody was buzzed (more reasons why it was a great show).
Also this girl to the left was actually not in studio but I figure it is a good visual while you are reading the blog, yup- your welcome.
Now the show started off with Marlon Wayans stopping by, he happened to be walking through the building and Covino and Rich said, hey why don’t you just come and sit with us. Of course he said yes, because he would say no to a room filled with Guacamole, tortilla chips, bottles of Patron, and tequila popsicles (better mental image for how the day was).
Then the guest of honor Sunny Anderson came in, who was hilarious and what sounds like a great cook (so great that even Spot had to vote for her), she made a guacamole, that was basically unfair for the competition. She called it The Smokey Crabamole (guess what’s in it… or I’ll just tell you)
Her guacamole consisted of:
-20 Avocados
- Pablanos- a mild chili pepper that she put in the oven on 400 degrees after sprinkling a little olive oil on it
-Hungarian Paprika
-Cumin
-one whole red onion
-key limes (because they are less acidic)
-micro cilantro
-a pinch (extremely small amount) of liquid smoke
and well this guacamole beat out all the rest so I suggest you try it out (it also sounds extremely delicious and made it one of those days it stinks to be a Jew)
Of course when she was announced as winner two things were said:
1. “Can you smell what the gauc is cooking” because she is awesome enough to say things like that.
2. She will be back next year to defend her title (going to hold her to that)
In 2nd place was Rich’s mystery guest: King Carlos (who Covino voted for but Rich didn’t), he won the guac off the very first year it happened, and Carlos actually tied second place with his own Guacamole (he made two).
In 3rd place was Spot- and yes Spot, we all know, if you weren’t so busy being the producer your Guac would have won
And in last place was Doug of Iloveroadhead.com, I guess he is best when it’s Skinnie and Minnie, not just Skinnie alone, but he was still awesome, and helped move the clean up process along.
Definitely one of my most eventful days on the Covino and Rich show, next time though I am sneaking away tequila…
Hope you enjoyed the festivities!
Happy May the fourth!
later dudebros
